Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I arrange an appointment?
    1. Book an appointment, through our online booking form. 2. Once you book your appointment you will be sent a confirmation email. This may appear in your junk folder so please check for this. The email will contain two forms, which must be completed electronically, prior to your appointment: - Pre-Appointment Information Form - Consent Form 3. After booking please send a referral letter from either your GP, Physio or Podiatrist to info@drumcairnepriviateclinic.com. This is not essential and will not prevent your appointment from proceeding, but is preferable. 4. Arrive 10 minutes before your allocated appointment time and have your procedure.
  • How much will it cost and how can I pay?
Payment can be made by cash or card, at the time of your procedure. A full list of all our pricing can be found on the 'Pricing' section of our website.
  • Are there any daytime appointments available?
If you wish to be treated during the day, you can book an appointment with Dr Miller on his non NHS working day. Please book an appointment through Active Therapy Clinic outside Moira. Book Now
  • How many procedures can I have?
You can have a maximum of 3 injections in a joint or soft tissue area every year. However, for some conditions this would not be appropriate and you may be recommended alternative treatments or options. There is no limit to the number of minor surgical procedures you can have.
  • Will the treatment cure my condition?
Where appropriate, I will inject with the intention to cure. However, this will depend on your condition. A lot of conditions will require you to work with your physiotherapist or podiatrist, in conjunction with the injection. In some instances, I can only offer pain relief for a period of time, depending on the nature and severity of your specific case. When successful, all minor surgical procedures will fully resolve your condition.
  • How do I consent to an procedure?
Before an injection is administered, or a minor surgical procedure is carried out, you will be required to sign a consent form. This will be sent to you as part of a confirmation email you receive, after making a booking. If you have any concerns or questions about this please get in touch by emailing info@drumcairnepriviateclinic.com.
  • Can I drive home after an injection or minor surgery?
Driving is not advised for 48 hours following an injection. Please make appropriate travel arrangements. Following minor surgery, your decision to drive will be at your own discretion unless advised otherwise.
  • Can I return to normal activity after a treatment?
Each condition is different, and you will be provided with specific advice after each treatment. However, in general most patients can gradually return to normal activities after 48 hours, with a full return after 7 days.
  • Who will be treating you?
My name is Dr Brian Miller. I have been an NHS GP at Stewartstown Health Centre for 20 years. During this time, I have been performing joint injections and minor surgical procedures for my patients. I have decided to start up a private clinic, which is based in the new state-of-the-art GP surgery at Stewartstown Health Centre. This will only be available to patients who are not registered with Stewartstown Health Centre.
  • Will this private clinic impact my current NHS patients?
No. I work full-time at Stewartstown Health Centre and I am proud to provide regular care to my patients. My private work will not affect any of my NHS patients, who are currently registered with Stewartstown Health Centre.
  • Why has Drumcairne Private Clinic been set up?
I recognise an unmet need in our locality for joint injections and minor surgical procedures. This is because not all GP practices currently provide these services, and the secondary care waiting lists continue to remain at an unmanageable level. This is compounded by the lack of funding for primary care physiotherapists in our practices.
